Field Notes: Art Basel 25
I was recently in Miami for a few stops that included Art Basel, a few new books from Taschen, seeing what was on display at the Avant Gallery, and a quick stop at the Wolfsonian-FIU. I've been a fan of Marco Brambilla's work for some time now having seen his Heaven's Gate installation years ago. When I found out his After Utopia installation was at the Wolfsonian as part of their World's Fairs exhibition, it made the list of things to see that day. The installation is a triptych, with the video sometimes syncing up, but often at different points that created a great experience in the dark room that it's in. I highly recommend seeing it if you can.
Art Basel was impressive, from the various pieces below, to the crowd focused Beeple piece, there's certainly many new artists to discover and plenty of established ones to enjoy.
